If you live in a sunny area, it may be beneficial to get solar panels fitted to your home. While there's an initial investment, producing your own energy will recoup the costs over time and eventually save you money.
Solar panels continue to come down in price and up in efficiency, so recouping your costs is faster than ever before. In some areas you may even be able to sell some of the surplus energy back to the grid. Some countries also offer subsidies for the initial cost, so make sure to check your local council’s website.
