You can complete this challenge for each item you start buying in bulk.
The packaging from the day to day items we buy is a huge contributor to the waste that ends up in landfills. Often a bulk buy of an item will result in less packaging than what would have been produced by buying the same quantity in smaller portions. This challenge is about taking advantage of that. Make sure you buy items that do actually use less packaging - buying a large box full of smaller packets is not really the idea here.
Not everything we buy is suitable for bulk buys. Perishable goods can go off before you get a chance to eat them, so stick to what you need for these. Think more about non perishable items such as rice, pasta, dried beans and fruits.
Store these items properly and they'll last long enough to be just as great as the day you got them. As a bonus, buying in bulk can also save you a small fortune in the process.
