Tea Bags Contain Plastic?

You heard us right, most tea bags are made using polypropylene. These tea bags can't be recycled and can leave microplastics floating around in your tea 🤢

The health affects of microplastics in our food and drink are not fully understood yet, but initial studies don't seem to suggest they're a good thing.

The Alternatives

Buying loose tea and a reusable tea strainer will cut out the tea bags altogether. However, some companies have plastic free tea bags, such as Clipper Organic Everyday Tea.

The more companies catch on that plant based alternatives to plasic are better for your brew and the planet, the more they'll start to change their practices, so support those companies that do.
